Phoenix Familias del Arco Iris: Our Bilingual
Support Meeting |
|
Now Meeting Monthly! |
It's true! After many years
of hoping and wishing a leader would come along who
could lead a bilingual/Spanish-speaking PFLAG support
group here in Phoenix, our dreams have finally come
true! We've found the perfect person,
and she's committed to seeing this new group come
alive here in the Valley! Now
that our bilingual support meetings have begun, we
are seeking out others who may be interested and willing
to help this new group grow and prosper. If
you think you might be such a person (or know someone
else who might be),
please contact us so that we can discuss
possibilities with you.
We're also looking for ways that
we can get the word out to the local Hispanic community
-- both in English and in Spanish. If you know of
people and/or organizations that can help us to get the
word out,
please contact us!

sure to check out

Facilitators: |
Mary
and Sal Rosales are the facilitators of our
Familias del Arco Iris bilingual support group.
Both Mary and Sal are fluent in English and Spanish.
They have three children, one of which was their son
Richie who was gay. Sadly, Richie passed away from
AIDS in 2005. Mary and Sal came to PFLAG Phoenix
in 2009, and soon after joined with other interested
individuals to form our Familias del Arco Iris bilingual
support group. This group has a primary focus and
outreach to Hispanic families in the Phoenix
metropolitan area, although all are welcome to attend.
We (PFLAG Phoenix) are blessed to have Mary and Sal join
our PFLAG family, and you too will find them warm,
inviting, and passionate to help others who share this
unique journey. |
