Equality Arizona
(formerly known as AHRF - Arizona Human Rights Fund) |
The Equality Arizona Advocacy Fund
and its sister organization, the Equality Arizona Education Foundation, are
single-mission driven: to secure, protect and defend the rights and welfare
of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) individuals living in
Arizona.
The Equality Arizona Advocacy Fund is the state's largest LGBT civil
rights organization. The Equality Arizona Advocacy Fund leads efforts for
LGBT civil rights at the state and local levels through an array of
strategies including lobbying legislators and other elected and appointed
officials; sponsoring bills and opposing negative legislation; building
coalitions; and empowering other organizations and individuals to engage in
the legislative process.
The Equality Arizona Political Action Committee (PAC) endorses
candidates and supports their campaigns through donations and volunteer
muscle. Through the efforts of the Equality ArizonaPAC, we are working to
expand the number of fair-minded representatives in state government.
The Equality Arizona Education Foundation educates LGBT people and
the public at large about issues impacting the LGBT community and our
allies, trains them to respond and work proactively for LGBT equality, and
connects communities working for justice and civil rights for all. The
Equality Arizona Education Foundation organizes advocacy trainings, forums
and topical briefings in partnership with statewide organizations and
individuals.
