to PFLAG Phoenix -- Parents, Families, and Friends of
Lesbians and Gays. Officially, that's our name.
However, that's not quite
accurate. Since PFLAG's beginnings back in 1973, our
vision and mission have grown.
Today, our name really should be "Parents, Families, and Friends
of/and Lesbians and Gays...and Bisexual, Transgender,
and 'Questioning' Individuals" -- but, who can
pronounce "PFLAGBTQI"?!? So, until
a better name comes along, we'll just
hang onto the original moniker "PFLAG".
We invite you now to sit back,

going to church for over 30 years, when my
son came out, the church turned their back
on us. When we found PFLAG and went to our
first meeting, we found more acceptance,
love and support in that one meeting than we
did in going to church for 30 years."
