Our program for the evening will feature Meg Sneed and the Arizona "Right to Marry" walkers who just this past month completed a 98-mile walk throughout northern Arizona to meet with everyday citizens, church groups, civil groups, mayors and town councils to discuss the issue of same-sex marriage.  Come here what they encountered along the way and their many "road warrior" stories!

9th Annual Rainbows Festival & Street Fair

The annual Rainbows Festival & Street Fair is a celebration of the diversity of the LGBT community.  The event is located in historic Heritage Square Park in downtown Phoenix.  Each year, the Rainbows Festival draws a crowd in excess of 25,000 gay and lesbians, family members and friends.  This is one of the largest LGBT events in the state of Arizona.  Join us for a fun-filled weekend and be sure to stop by our PFLAG Phoenix booth!

Every Step Counts:  The 2010 Phoenix AIDS Walk & 5K Run

With HIV infections on the rise – primarily among heterosexual women, African Americans and men and women between 35 and 49 – proceeds from the 2010 AIDS Walk Phoenix & 5 K Run, an Aunt Rita’s Event, will support 19 Valley-based agencies providing support, resources and services.  Please register as a team or walker and come to the AIDS Walk in Phoenix.  Note:  The Run will start promptly at 9:00 AM with the Walk to begin approximately 5 minutes after the last runner has passed the starting line.

Gay Bowl X [Gay Flag Football Tournament]

24 teams from 22 cities are expected to participate when the Phoenix Hellraisers league hosts Gay Bowl X Oct. 6th-11th.  Each team has 15-20 players, making Gay Bowl the country's largest gay football event.  The event will include pre- and post-game activities and golf and spa retreats.

Tucson’s GLBT community will take to the streets to march in Pride of who they are and who they love. Now in its 5th year, Pride on Parade will continue to delight Tucson with a colorful procession taking place this year on Friday, October 9, 2009 from 6:00-9:00pm!

OUTdayPHX at the Phoenix Zoo
National Coming OUT Day (Oct. 11th) is an internationally-observed civil awareness day for coming out and discussion about LGBT issues. This year, spend your day with Phoenix Pride at the Phoenix Zoo, then join our celebration at the Plaza de Los Ninos at 1:00pm with special appearances by national LGBT celebrities and local LGBT community leaders.  Hear their Coming OUT stories as well as those from LGBT brothers and sisters from our very own community.

National Coming Out Day

Held on October 11th every year to commemorate the first March on Washington by LBGT people. The March took place in October of 1987 and highlighted the lesbigay struggle for acceptance.  The first National Coming Out Day was held on October 11, 1988.  The purpose of National Coming Out Day is to promote honesty and openness about being lesbian, gay or bisexual.

5th Anniversary One Voice Gala, presented by Saks 5th Avenue

This year's gala will take place at the marvelous Saks Fifth Avenue-Biltmore.  The event includes a full scale fashion show, cocktails and hor d'oevurves.  This year's Gala hosts are Kyrsten Sinema and Steve May.  VIP and Premium seating available for runway-side seating and other exclusive benefits.  General admission tickets are also available.
