"Outrage", exclusively at Harkins Valley Art Theatre

Opens July 3rd

Academy Award nominated filmmaker Kirby Dick (This Film Is Not Yet Rated) delivers a searing indictment of the hypocrisy of closeted politicians who actively campaign against the LGBT community they covertly belong to. OUTRAGE boldly reveals the hidden lives of some of our nation’s most powerful policymakers, details the harm they've inflicted on millions of Americans, and examines the media's complicity in keeping their secrets.

This is H.O.W. 4th of July Festivities

July 4th, 10:00am-3:00pm & 10:00pm

Join us for the 4th of July bash at Cruisin' 7th including a car wash and garage sale (10am-3pm), and performances, pudding shots and food (10pm).  BBQ available all day long!  So come on out to support This is H.O.W. and enjoy pudding shots from the Sisters, performances by Regina Gazelle, the Dream Girls, Farma Sue, and others!  See you there!

Defying Inequality - a benefit for equal rights

July 13th, 7:30pm

The National Touring Company of Wicked will host Defying Inequality, a special evening of benefit cabaret performances promoting equality and civil rights.  Held at Cherry Lounge & Pit, 411 S. Mill Avenue, Tempe, and featuring cast members from Wicked as well as special guest performers, this special event will benefit Marriage Equality USA.


One Community Night at Casino Arizona’s “Showstoppers Live”

July 16th, 5:30pm

“Showstoppers Live” is a musical tribute to America's greatest superstars featuring the music of artists such as Elvis, Tina Turner, The Four Tops, Whitney Houston, Donna Summer, Brooks & Dunn, and many more.  Proceeds from this special event will benefit Aunt Rita's Foundation.


Playhouse on the Park present "bare"

July 16th - Aug. 9th

A contemporary new musical that tells the story of a group of students at a Catholic boarding school struggling to find their own voices in a modern world that both embraces and isolates them. These teenagers confront coming of age, coming out, and coming to terms with the often contradictory but always high expectations of parents, peers, and the Church.  (Echo's review)


PFLAG Phoenix to present "True Colors"

July 20th, 7:00pm

Our central PFLAG group presents:  "True Colors", an 11-minute documentary about four homosexual men (from ASU) and their life stories on how they have dealt with issues concerning love, hate and acceptance.  Group discussion to follow.  (film trailer)

The Original Gay Comedy Night presents Jade Esteban Estrada

July 23rd, 8:00pm

He’s been seen in feature films, on Comedy Central’s The Graham Norton Effect, In the Life on PBS, Friday Night Lights and 30 Rock on NBC and has headlined concerts, theatres and comedy clubs around the world.  Meet “master entertainer,” Jade Esteban Estrada.

 


4th Annual One Voice 80's Bowl-A-Thon Fundraiser

July 25th, 6:00pm

Join celebrity hostess Afellya Bunz for a fun-filled night of bowling at the AMF Squaw Peak Lanes to benefit the One Voice Community Center.  Come dressed in your best 80's stylings.  Prizes for best bowler, worst bowler, best 80's celebrity look-alike, and overall best team.  After party at Kobalt. To bowl, you must register to be on a team by July 20th.

PFLAG Phoenix's "Night OUT at Charlies"

Join other Phoenix PFLAGers at Charlies' at 9:30pm (for the 10pm presentation ceremony) to thank the fabulous Men of Charlies and Charlies' patrons for their generous and continuing financial support of PFLAG Phoenix.  Stop by and join us for a drink . . . and a dance?!?  Charlies is located on the south side of Camelback Road, just west of 7th Avenue in Phoenix.

Sept. 19th

Sedona's first-ever gay pride festival.  Sedona Pride will hold this ground breaking event at Relics in West Sedona on September 19, 2009.  There will be dancing, live entertainment, food and more . . .


Casa Grande Gay Day, Casa Grande, AZ

Sept. 26th, 12:00pm

Casa Grande Gay Day is scheduled to take place Saturday September 26th between the hours of noon and 9 pm. The event is for the soul purpose of celebration. We have accomplished a lot here in Casa Grande and will most likely continue to do so as we continue to progress. More information can be found on the upcoming calendar tab. Rainbows Festival & Street Fair

Oct. 3rd & 4th, 10:00am-6:00pm

The annual Rainbows Festival & Street Fair is a celebration of the diversity of the LGBT community.  The event is located in historic Heritage Square Park in downtown Phoenix.  Each year, the Rainbows Festival draws a crowd in excess of 25,000 gay and lesbians, family members and friends.  This is one of the largest LGBT events in the state of Arizona.

Tucson’s GLBT community will take to the streets to march in Pride of who they are and who they love. Now in its 5th year, Pride on Parade will continue to delight Tucson with a colorful procession taking place this year on Friday, October 9, 2009 from 6:00-9:00pm!

2009 Arizona OUTdoors LGBTQ Youth Leadership Camp, Prescott, AZ

Oct. 23rd-25th

100 lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth, ages 13-24, from across Arizona , will gather at this year's OUTdoors! conference in Prescott, Arizona to develop their leadership skills, build self confidence, and develop group and community organizing skills.
