Introducing a new PFLAG Yahoo Group for Rural PFLAG Chapters

This year, in response to your requests, PFLAG National is focusing our efforts on providing resources for chapters in rural communities. We understand that PFLAG chapters located in rural communities face unique challenges different from those of chapters in urban or suburban areas.  We are happy to announce the addition of a new Yahoo! Group to our list of online communities called PFLAGinruralAmerica which is a network of members from rural PFLAG chapters all across the country.

This forum is designed for you to discuss issues that are unique to you, such as finding a public meeting space where your members will feel safe and welcome or advertising your chapter in communities without a centralized GLBT community. If you are a leader or a member from a chapter in a rural area, you may join the PFLAGinruralAmerica Yahoo! Group. I encourage as many people from your chapter to join and weigh in on the questions posted to the group each month and keep an eye out in the future for more resources on the PFLAG National website!
